getting to know so many of the people that make up Old Skool showed us a world that few of us had ever experienced first hand. it was certainly my first time visiting the projects and you can immediately feel the environment as you enter.

as you'll see in the film, what we were left with was such a warm portrait of these youth who put so much of who they are, and so much heart into making Old Skool a success. i can remember being in that age range, not quite 20 yet, and i don't think i could point to one thing that i care about half as much as these youth care about Old Skool. their perspective and determination at such a young age is absolutely awe-inspiring.

<description>The Superbowl: the last episode of our Emmy nominated tv and web series called The Season.

at the end of the year it all comes down to these 60 minutes and all of the records, stats, and trophies go out the window. it is also such a huge stage being the most viewed single day sporting event in the world, and that is such a large audience for so few people.

<description>in Arnold Palmer's words, winning doesn't just happen on Sunday afternoons. it happens off the course playing table tennis with your son, picking up your daughter from school, or baking a cake with your wife. all of which we experienced with the top golfer's in the world.

our biggest challenge for each of our Callaway films was to try and share a glimpse of what each player is like off the course. every player we would be working with had done countless interviews, they were all quite accustomed to the media, and countless pieces had already been put forth featuring them.

to tell an original story for each we really wanted to dive into what shaped them as golfers, their beliefs on the game, and who they are when they aren’t golfing. what was really fascinating to discover was just how many players we encountered that had developed much of their signature playing style through overcoming obstacles when they first started out. Alvaro, as an example, started out with his fathers clubs which were much too big for him. through this he developed the ability to swing faster and launch a ball further than just about anybody else in the game.

what struck us about Alvaro was his affinity for so many sports as well as his youthfulness and vibrancy. our aim was to capture that in everything we did for his film. from the soundtrack, to the color palette, the compositions, to the camera tools everything was done to reflect the energy and edge we saw in him.
